LaShell Winters

LaShell Winters, a native of Abbeville, Louisiana, embodies resilience and a commitment to personal growth. While she began her college education earlier in life, her journey took a pause. Recently, she reignited her academic ambitions and is now working toward her Bachelor’s degree, with plans to pursue a Master’s degree thereafter. LaShell embraces the belief that it is never too late to achieve milestones and create a better life.

Her professional background is rooted in retail, where she thrived for 11 years as a Retail Sales Manager for a well-known clothing brand. LaShell excelled at connecting with customers, empowering them with confidence, and building strong relationships. Her leadership extended beyond her store as she supported her district manager and trained staff across multiple locations. Her dedication led her store to rank #28 out of over 300 stores nationwide, earning her a prestigious award and an all-expenses-paid trip in recognition of her outstanding achievement. She was deeply saddened to part ways with her customers when the company closed all 300-plus stores following the pandemic.

In her transition to nonprofit work, LaShell joined The Nehemiah Projects of Acadiana (NPAI) as an Administrative Assistant. Her drive and commitment quickly propelled her into the role of Director of Programs and Events within months. At NPAI, she discovered her true passion: serving her community. LaShell oversees impactful programs, including the Summer STEAM Day Camps, which she launched, and serves as the Program Coordinator for the Preschool Literacy Program. Through her work, LaShell is making a lasting difference in the lives of people in her hometown and beyond.
