FOUNDATIONS IN LITERACY
Growing Readers. Inspiring Families. Building Brighter Futures. ๐โจ
We’re getting ready to turn the pages once again! Foundations in Literacy is returning for another exciting session this fall, and we can’t wait to welcome our young readers back.
Now entering its 6th session, our FREE literacy program is designed to help children build confidence, strengthen reading skills, and—most importantly—discover the joy of reading. Through fun, interactive activities, engaging books, and family involvement, we create an environment where reading feels like an adventure rather than a chore.
๐ Fall Session Coming Soon!
Foundations in Literacy is FREE and open to eligible young readers. Registration information for our upcoming fall session will be announced soon.
Get ready to read, explore, learn, and grow with us!
Because every great adventure begins with a book. ๐โจ
๐ Meet Our Readers
Our fall session will continue to feature two groups:
๐ Mini Readers
Designed for our youngest readers in
Pre-K and Kindergarten, Mini Readers will explore books through age-appropriate activities, storytelling, and hands-on learning experiences.

๐ช Mighty Readers
For students in
1st–3rd grade, Mighty Readers will focus on building reading confidence, comprehension, vocabulary, and a stronger love for books.
โค๏ธ Look How Far We've Come!
Over our previous sessions, we’ve had the opportunity to watch children grow in their confidence, excitement, and willingness to engage with books and reading activities. Families have joined us in creating positive reading experiences, and each session has helped us continue building a program centered around the belief that every child can become a reader when given the opportunity, encouragement, and resources to succeed.

As we prepare for our 6th session, we’re excited to build on that success and make this fall even more engaging!

Last season, we were thrilled to welcome a very special guest reader! For the first time, one of our featured authors joined us in person. Author Andrea Wren read her delightful children’s book, "Maggie and the Bee Charmer", during one of our sessions.
โจ Calling All Local Children’s Authors!
We want to bring the community into our classrooms—and we’re looking for local authors who write children’s books!
Would you be willing to:
- ๐ Visit our literacy program and read your book to our young readers?
- โ๏ธ Share your experience as a local author?
- โค๏ธ Donate copies of your children’s books for our participants to enjoy?
We would love to introduce our children to the talented authors in our own community and give them the opportunity to see that books—and the people who create them—can be right here in their own backyard!
๏ปฟ
If you are a local children’s author or know an author who may be interested in partnering with us, we’d love to hear from you!
